Convex and Concave Quadrilateral-Geometry Help-MooMooMath
Concave and convex quadrilaterals-- Geometry Help-MooMooMath
Most quadrilaterals are convex quadrilaterals because each interior angle is 180 degrees or less. Common examples are kites, squares, and rectangles.
Concave quadrilaterals have one interior angle greater than 180 degrees A common example is a dart.

Calculate the volume, radius, and diameter of a sphere given the area-Geom...
In this video I created you will learn how to find the radius, volume, and diameter of a sphere, given the area. I call these backwards problems because you normally find the area given the volume or radius.
This video helps with the following Geometry Standard
Common Core Standard G.GMD.3

Properties of a rhombus, rectangle, and a square

Properties of a rhombus,rectangle, and a square
A rhombus, rectangle, and square are all polygons.
In addition each of these are quadrilaterals, which mean they have 4 sides.
A rhombus is a quadrilateral with 4 equal sides. A rhombus is most commonly recognized as a diamond, but they are not limited to this shape.
Let's take a look at 14 properties of a rhombus.
A Rhombus is a Quadrilateral, which means it has four sides, and the sides of a rhombus are congruent.
The opposite sides of a rhombus are parallel.
The opposite angles of a Rhombus are congruent.
The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular.
The diagonals of a Rhombus create form four congruent interior triangles.
The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other which means they cut each other in half.
A rectangle has opposite sides that are congruent. in addition a rectangle has 4 right angles, and diagonals that are equal.
A rectangle is part of the quadrilateral family.
A rectangle is a plane shape with 4 sides.
In addition, it has several other properties
A rectangle is a 4 sided polygon, with opposite sides being parallel.
In addition, a rectangle has 4 right angles and the sum of the interior angles add to 360 degrees.
The diagonals of a rectangle are equal length
The diagonals bisect and create two equal triangles.
Opposite sides are equal and parallel
All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.
A square is also a quadrilateral with four equal sides plus four right angles. The diagonals of a square bisect one another, plus bisect opposite angles which create two angles of 45 degrees.
A square is a plane shape that is a quadrilateral that is 2D so it has length and width but not height.
A square has 4 congruent sides 4 equal sides.
Along with these 4 sides, a square has 4 right angles
The diagonals are perpendicular and create 4 right angles.
The diagonals bisect each other.
The diagonals of a square also bisect opposite angles
and create equal 45-degree angles.
The diagonals create congruent triangles
Triangle ABC is congruent to ACD
A square can be considered a rhombus with four right angles or a square with 4 equal sides.

In this video you will learn 14 properties of a rhombus.
What is a Rhombus?
A rhombus is most commonly recognized as a diamond, but they are not limited to this shape.
Let's take a look at 14 properties of a rhombus.
A Rhombus is a Quadrilateral, which means it has four sides, and the sides of a rhombus are congruent.

The opposite angles of a Rhombus are congruent.
The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular.
The diagonals of a Rhombus create form four congruent interior triangles.
The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other which means they cut each other in half.
The formula for finding the perimeter of a Rhombus equals 4 x sides
The formula for area equals ½ d1 * d2
d = length of the diagonals
A rhombus has all the properties of a parallelogram which include, opposite sides are congruent, the opposite angles are congruent, and the diagonals bisect each other.
All squares can be considered a rhombus, but all rhombuses are considered squares
The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other, but do not have to be the same length

Finding the area of irregular shapes
Step by step directions for finding the area of irregular shapes.
These types of shapes are sometimes called composite figures.
Step 1 is to identify the types of shapes that make up the irregular shape.
Next you can find the area of each of these shapes and add these together.

Demonstration-Visualizing the Volume of a Cone and Cylinder Formula
Demonstration of the Volume of a Cone compared to the volume of an equal sized cylinder using water.
In this demonstration, you will see how the volume of a cone is 1/3 the volume of a cylinder that has an equal radius and height.
The volume of a cylinder is equal to πr^2 x height
The volume of a cone equals 1/3 πr^2 x height
Therefore, it should take three cones of water to fill up an equal sized cylinder.
