Trigonometry Application Problems-Using Sine

This is a short trigonometry problem that uses the trig function sine in order to solve an application problem.The application problem is asking for an angle measure of a right triangle.

A skateboard ramp is 6 feet long and three feet high,what is the angle of elevation?

Step 1. Draw a picture. When you draw the picture you notice the ramp forms a right triangle.

Step2. See which sides of the right triangle you have. In this problem you have opposite and hypotenuse.

Step3. When you are finding angle you will use the inverse function of sine I call these backward problem
